I thought that this article was actually interesting. The reason for this is becauase of the fact that what the article is stating is true. I know I’m guilty of doing those visualization excersises before a show which I have to try to relax beforehand. I think that the tips that were given are/will be useful to people.Overall I genuinely liked this article.
This article is about preparing yourself for big things like job interviews, important tests, etc. Some people do too much and then get bad results. Their basically saying that sometimes the less you do the better.
The article intrigued me. The tips would be useful for people that would be nervous about preparing for things such as a job promotion. I really liked it.
This artical was very interesting. It was about different ways to prepare for success. This article will be perfect if you want to be successful in your later years.
Less is more, is the theme of this article. The suggestions made in this article are all things I already do. I usually practice speeches in front of multiple people, getting different interpretations and advice on how to make it better. Or when I edit a video, I will have someone else watch it a few times and go through it with me, seeing what is good and what isn’t. It is nice to know I’ve been doing the correct thing all along.
I’m not so sure I agree with this article. I don’t think practice can ever really be “too much”. Of course if its causing you to over think you need to relax a bit. In reality though, talking in front of a big crowd will continue to be nerve wrecking until you’ve done it so many times you are used to it. Take Obama and Mccain, during their nomination speeches they seemed under control as always. Look at their backgrounds, they both came from the Senate where they most likely had to give many speeches on certain laws they wanted to pass. On top of experience, being in control of your crowd also comes with good preparation.
I think this article was not really informational. I do believe that people that say they are going to practice .. like the shy sales clerk should just bite the bullet and do it!!
When I dont like doing something that I need to do alot of i make sure to do it all the time so Im not so affraid to do it anymore.
=]
This article has to do with less time preparing for something can make things easier, i really don’t argee with that beacause the more you know the easier it will be to remember things and get the big picture of it. It also talks about different ways to prepare for success.
The article actually made sense. Sometimes we practice so hard that it gets to be overwhelming. So the point of the article is to not take it so seriously because in the end our body shuts down all of those main thinking functions and were just focused on the task at hand not what we rehearsed the night before.
This article was actually very interesting. The stuff they talked about made complete sense. This articel would be very helpful to those who want to be successful later on in life.
i found this article quite borning because he talks about how some techniquies to help u relax and get over your nerves really dont work. i have to disagree sometimes just taking a deep breath before you begin really does help some people to focus and do better. Although i did hear its better to channel your nervous feelings instead of fighting them cause it makes it easier to present.
I agree with this article, over thinking and over practicing makes you less proficient. Practicing can be easy but when doing the real thing its a different story. I never really thought about this that way, it makes sense.
Though butterflies and anxiety may have scientific reasoning, I think that practice does make perfect. The more you practice, the better you get. I think the key thing to do is to just relax and take in one step at a time. I like to practice speeches in front of various crowds, but many times I just go out and wing it. I feel more confident that way. If i practice, I feel like i have to remember every word i practiced, and when i don’t, I tend to be extrememly hard on myself.
this artical is about a man named eliot. he feels that you should only put 40 % of your time practicing and i feel that you should put as much time into practicing as you can because practice makes purfect. eliot feels that less is more. but i feel he is wrong. i agree talking in front of a many people is nerve wrecking until you have done it so many times you are used to it you will be able to remember your words which will help in the long run. in the end i feel that this is some what true but also some what wrong!
The article was about relaxing before a big show or presentation and not too over think things and relax because, it just makes you mess up. I don’t know if I agree with the article because, practice makes perfect. Sure you shouldn’t over think it but the more you practice and do it the less you will over think it. It will just coem naturally. Eliot feels that less is more but I feel he is wrong.
I agree that you should relax before you do a big show or something. You should take deep breaths and concentrate on what youre going to do. Practice take a lot of time and work and i think in the end it will all work out.
this article was talking about how if you dont analyze things to much you might do better. sometimes too much practice can only hurt you in the long run by making you worry about it.
This time i actually read the article and it was quite interesting. i found out that what we were always told to do when we were nervous about something is completely wrong. the article saids that we should not practice, set goals, and make everything real. It saids that while in the moment we should feel nervous and have butterflies in our stomach because that makes us work better and focus on exactly what we are susposed to do. the funny thing is i live on butterflies and being anxious so i guess that im doing something right.
Okay ms.santiago to me what i really think this article ment was like that when you do something its like that you shouldnt get you nervous… you can only plan out something till a certain extent.
This article is very confusing. It talks about alot of topics. Its a very random topic. But some of the topics i don’t agree with like not setting goals i belive goals are very important.
I agree with this article because usually when i’m getting ready for something big i try to calm myself down and end up overreacting. It’s true, instead of thinking about it and getting your body stressed out JUST DO IT.
Sorry I didn’t put my initials!!
This was an article with a very compelling point. Being a competitor of DECA for 2 years now, I’ve learned how to prepare myself for a presentation. It’s true that you can practice too much as the author says. My mom may ask why I’m not constantly practicing my presentation but if I do, then I will think too much about it. It’s better if it comes naturally. Even before I step in front of the judges I can’t rehearse too much or else it’ll conflict with what I’ve already taught myself to do.
The article was good and interesting. It is very true that you need to relax and not think about things to much. if you think things through to much you work yourself up and stress about things.
This artical stressed the idea of not becoming stressed. That you should always be laid back about life. i though i was an intestesing artical it taught me how to be chill about my life, and how to keep things positive. (:
This article was interesting, it tells you how to prepare yourself. It says that should you spend alot of time practicing for everything. Its helpful, it also talks about goals and how you should set and acheive them.
This article was kinf of understanding cuase its like that you should not think some time when things are happening and just go with the flow if everyhting so you wont get so nervous.
the article was okay. It talked about a man named eliot. He believes in less is more.I agree with his philosophy in some ways. Since if you over analyze things sometimes you are likely to mess up. Sometimes you could just believe in less is more but for the most part you should always work more.
this article is very intresting because i can relate to it. the butterflies in your stomacha nd such are true. in pyscology we called it the “fight or flight” when your body systems start to shut down preparing you for the upcoming situation. after reading this i can say that im not going to practice too much but do prepare myself well, not over think it.
